About 6 weeks. I had an ultrasound at 7.5 and heard and saw the heartbeat (you can see it beating away!)

But I know of people with healthy children that didn't hear or see the heartbeat until 10-11 weeks. If the baby is the right size and still growing etc... there's nothing to be concerned about.

Some people also need an internal ultrasound to hear the heartbeat at 6-10 weeks.

Good luck

I did a paper in high school about abortions (dont worry pro life) and after doing my research I found out that a baby's heart starts forming at 18 DAYS. The actual heart beat cant be heard until 4-5 weeks if you are lucky.

I saw my baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound at 6 weeks. The heart is outside the body so you can actually see it beating, it's really neat to see.
