What degree must I get for high school education?

What degree(s)/ Certificate(s) must I get to teach high school history and coach high school varsity basketball? thanks for your help

It depends on where you want to teach but in general- a major in history (or the equivalent social studies etc.) with a minor in secondary education or teacher certification (through state) should be enough to get you started. As far as coaching it is done through individual high schools and often does not require and additional education.
