Yes. Bella Mars said it.

Real emo is pretty much dead now. If you think AFI, Panic etc are emo then you've been fooled. Many bands these days are INCORRECTLY labelled as emo when they are not.

If you want to know about real emo, then go back to the DC bands that spawned the genre.

BTW, AFI= Punk. They've been around longer than most people think. They are not new. They formed a more than a decade and a half ago. They used to be a very respected underground hardcore/punk band back in the days. EBHC!

They have released more than 24 albums and EP's combined. Most of that is Punk. They are not emo. You don't hear true emo music anymore.

I'm not into lumping bands and labelling them but......

Sex Pistols, The Descendents and old-school AFI= Punk
Prince, The Rollingstones, New Order, AC/DC= Legends
Panic! much like Nickelback= Unchanging.
Angels And Airwaves= Rot in hell

Punk- The Sex Pistols, The Descendents, Greenday, A.F.I
AFI's first 3 albums were just pure quality hardcore punk.
AFI ain't emo. Don't talk sh/t if you've only heard Miss Murder or LLW, because you know nothing. Emo died years ago.

Greenday, some may disagree, but they did play punk back in the days.

There is nothing pop about AFI. or screamo. They've been around almost 16 years, and were once a harcore punk band. Listen to their first 2 albums....there's nothing "pop" about them. There's more to them than Miss Murder and Love Like Winter.

None of these bands are emo...emo isn't short for emotional its short for emotive hardcore, and then later emocore. Real emo ahs died out in the 90s. you will never catch it on the radio.

3,6,7,9,19 I would consider pop-rock.

The "simple plan fan" guy is a moron, Simple Plan are FAR from Punk, they are another crappy emo/pop band. The only Punk bands on your list are The Descendents and Sex Pistols.
