The Golden Rule, or "Do unto others what you would like done to yourself" is found in many religions and cultures in some form or another. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, every one of those, and all sorts of other religions and cultures use this rule as the general concept. In essence, if this rule is followed completely, judgement, crime, and hardship would dissappear and perfect complete Shalom (meaning Peace or Right Relationship in Hebrew) would reign the earth.

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
It means to treat people the way that you would want to be treated, and only that way.
