Ok so here is the deal, I am kind of a noob on this subject so I am asking to get the best results. I have a Dell Precision M70 with Windows Vista Ultimate. I would like to be able to hook up a LCD TV, to use as the monitor, and watch the Media Center. I have been looking at Toshiba 32 inch LCD TV's, and the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 MCE Kit - TV tuner / video input adapter - PCI to allow myself to access all the Media Center Features. I need to know the following: Which LCD TV is a good choice, what cables I need to purchase to get a good quality display, and will the laptop display still remain on when hooked up to LCD TV ?

you have to have a monitor cable, the end of it is a BLUE colour with screw in bits. you need a one with both at the same end (nearly all of them are like this, hard to miss, im sure you have one at home), attach one to the laptop and other to the TV. then right click at the desktop, go to properties and display properties are up, settings tab, advance button, displays tab, then click on TV. and then apply it and thats it.

most flat panel lcd televisions have all the necessary connections to hook up to your laptop, i am not familiar with your model laptop, make sure the connections are compatible with whichever lcd you buy, you will most definitely need spdif, its function is very similar to that of the scart socket, if your laptop screen is on while you are connected you can disable it in cmos setup or at started up pressing the fn button and corresponding f1,-f12 etc simultaneously.
