Ok so here is the deal, I am kind of a noob on this subject so I am asking to get the best results. I have a Dell Precision M70 with Windows Vista Ultimate. I would like to be able to hook up a LCD TV, to use as the monitor, and watch the Media Center. I have been looking at Toshiba 32 inch LCD TV's, and the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 MCE Kit - TV tuner / video input adapter - PCI to allow myself to access all the Media Center Features. I need to know the following: Which LCD TV is a good choice, what cables I need to purchase to get a good quality display, and will the laptop display still remain on when hooked up to LCD TV ?

Most laptops have a VGA output these days. Most High def monitors have a VGA input. Mate with a simple VGA cable, connect audio outputs, and use your LCD as a computer monitor.

Note: Limitations on your VGA input may require you to lower your resolution to 800 x 600 on your laptop. You may also have to switch on the keyboard (probably through a function key) to the VGA output rather than your laptop monitor.

in my view, it must be a undesirable VGA cable because of the fact if the exhibit blacks out for a couple of minutes it maximum in all probability could be the cable not holding the relationship or the packets being transmitted by skill of the computing device, not arriving intact or being corrupted, by skill of the time they get on your liquid crystal exhibit. i'd think of roughly changing the cable and intending from there.
