Well if you're going to ride in a skirt I would suggest a sport bike,so you are positioned low in the front and high in the rear. I would also like to reccomend a G-string or no undies at all, the breeze will help to keep you alert.
Enjoy your ride!

Hey, I've seen lots of photos from the 50's showing women riding bikes in skirts so I'm thinking why not. Your choice of underwear might be real important here....

Actually, you should always wear long pants, leather is best, jeans are better then nothing. In many years of riding I've never fallen over but I hear it hurts. The more you wear, the better off you end up should you have an accident or spill. And women look sexy in leather anyhow so there ya go.

There are many great bikes to start out on. Take a training course to get your feet wet and see what it's all about. Shop for a bike that fits you and a dealer that gives you an honest price and has a shop that can keep you on the road.

You can always get a bigger bike. Don't overwhelm yourself right off the bat or you will lose interest or worse.

Welcome to the club.

Your safest bet is a rider safety course. I know that now some Harley dealers are provding a small bike to learn on while you are taking the class. They supervise you constantly and make certain you understand all the controls before you ride it. The bikes are small enough for most women to handle easily while you learn the basics of turning and stopping. They lay out a course in a parking lot and guide you through until you are comfortable with steering, starting and stopping. I know two ladies who took the course even though they were nervous and by the second time they steered the bike through the course their nervousness was gone!

Go for it. That is the safest way to learn and the cheapest because if you buy a bike and wreck it while trying to learn you will have spent more than the price of the riders course.

Call you friendly Harley dealer today and ask about the riders course.

There might be other brand dealers who also offer that but I don't know for certain.

Personally I love it when a woman rides in a skirt ! But seriously, Look around at some used, cheap bikes. Look for one that fits you well in size. Don't spend a lot of money because you're not going to keep it. Get your bike and take a safety course. Get some time and miles under your belt. Save up and buy the bike of your dreams.

If thats what you want I say, take a safety course first! The best one for you, is the one that you feel comfortable on. I am partial to Kawasaki Vulcans, my 800 is what I am comfortable on. Sit on different bikes and find one that you can handle with feet on ground. As for the skirt, wear a thong, there is no way of getting on the bike without showing the beaver.

A good bike to start out with is going to depend on how tall you are be sure you can get a good foot hold while you're sitting on it an older model Honda sport bike is good but if you're taller a 250 cc bike may not be very comfortable for riding I like the Honda vfr line for beginner bikes their gear driven engine won't leave you wanting for power but are easy to maintain. skirts on bikes are good for guys looking but tend to leave legs a little on the crispy side.

Why don't you start with the very basics and take a beginner rider course in your area. You can go to www.msf-usa.org to find one nearby.
As far as the skirt goes.....you know the old saying..."whatever makes your skirt blow up".
