My son is six years old and he keeps getting bloody noses at least two a week. Last night it started bleeding and we stopped it but a few minutes later he started sneezing really bad and I helped him blow his nose and a dime size glop of blood came out. I took him to the ER but they told me it's nothing to worry about. Any one got any suggestions?

I want to add we live in Florida and the only time this has ever happened is when we moved into my moms house and she has no air conditioning there.

It`s the veins in the nose are very sensitive even rubbing your nose will start it it slows down as you get older you. My doctor told me that you can get them burnt but sometimes it makes it worse then better the only thing i use to do lay head back cold flannel on forehead & back of neck & pinch nose that slows it down & try not to get too hot

Take him to an ENT - Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist (doctor). These doctors treat that type of thing regularly. Perhaps his blood vessels in his nose are just thin and sensitive. The glop of blood he sneezed out was a blood clot.

My brother got these when he was a kid. It's nothing to worry about.
But since he's 6 years old make sure he isn't causing any "digital trauma" inside his nose.
After a nose bleed stops allow him to sneeze but don't blow his nose just GENTLY wipe. Blowing the nose can just open the wounds back up.
The capilaries in the nose are very delicate it doesn't take much to cause a kid's nose to bleed.

Get a vaporizer going in his room. Dry weather can and will make his nose bleed. If you are still concerned go to an ears, eyes throat doctor and they will probably confirm what ER said. It is possible to have his nose cauterized to seal any broken blood vassals. My youngest goes through this every year. Good Luck hope this helps.

Get a humidifier for your house. It is probably caused by the dry air in your house. If you don't want to get a humidifier you can boil water on your stove and that will put moisture into the air as well.

ITS JUST THE TEMPERATURE CHANGE, CUS I ALWAYS GET A BLOODY NOSE, ONCE I WAS PLAYING OUTSIDE IN THE SNOW, AND I CAME INSIDE INTO THE HEAT, AND MY NOSE STARTED TO BLEED.

a blood vessel bursts in your nostrils and it causes nosebleed. it is nothing to worry about, because its natural if you are in drier air climates it is frequent.
just let it drain, it does go away.
believe me, nosebleeds are harmless.
