How can this be done without harming them? Our neigbors cats are constantly in our yard, on our driveway, on our deck etc. They are very annoying and sneaky.

No problem, as I had the same problem at my old house.

Go to any store you can think of that sells ULTRA large containers of regular black pepper and cayenne pepper. I guess Costco, Sam's Club, Smart & Final, etc... sprinkle both around your yard's perimeter, tops of fences, etc... anywhere you have seen them. Then be sure to repeat after each rain you get, and repeat around your perimeter every 1 to 2 weeks. Trust me, this has been by far the most effective way of keeping any and all animals out of my yards, and its really cheap too.

If you lived in my city, it'd be against the law for your neighbor's cats to be OFF LEASH (yes, cats have leash law just like dogs!) and you can call Animal Control and complain about "stray cats" and they'll come trap them for you.
No more kitty. Neighbor sad! Neighbor cry! Neighbor should keep the blankety-blank cats in the house!

There is a sprinkler you can buy for about $100 that has a motion sensor in it. It just turns on when it detects motion. It was intended to keep birds out of gardens.

Try this site. They have one listed for $75.

Go to the zoo, or ask where you can purchase lion,or tiger, big cats urine .sprinkle around perimeter of your property . After it rains you'll have to reapply . Don't use so much that you smell it .Animals have a very keen sense of smell ,and they'll smell it.

I have heard orange peels will keep them away. They dont like the scent of citrus. So maybe some citrus candles or anything like that

spray amonia around your door and porch, they think it has already been marked by another cat and will go away, also moth balls are good in your flower beds and porch boxes
