Time is a complicated subject. It is usually treated as a forth dimension, like up/down, left/right, and fore/aft. But, unlike the other dimensions, we do not know how to move through time at will, or even if it is possible.

And, while time is treated as a forth dimension, no one really knows what it is. It is a subject of research.

Time is forth dimension used to describe movement in 3 dimensions. There wouldn't be any moving if there would not be time.

i don't know allot on the subject but some parts of string theory speak of time being composed of chronotons much like space is composed of tachyons
