My menstrual period should have started on Feb. 12th, and it hasn't. For the past week, for a day or so, I have very lightly spotted, but still no sign of the actual flow. Last month, I thought I was pregnant, and I wasn't, and I went to my family doctor, and she done an examination, and gave me a pregnancy test, but I wasn't pregnant. She perscribed me provera to make my period start, and it did, but still no sign of it this month. For the past three or four days, I have felt sick all day long, and done nothing but sleep. I am going to take a pregnancy test in the morning, but what do you think may be going on?? All answers appreciated! Thank you!

You are not ovulating and without ovulation you can't have periods. The provera does not make you ovulate--it simply produces a withdrawl bleed and does nothing else. It doesn't regulate your cycles or anything like that. You need to figure out why you aren't ovulating by going to an OB/Gyn. If you are not TTC then you should go on birth control. If you are TTC then you probably need something to help you ovulate--like Clomid.

You may need something to help your periods every month. It could also be a reaction to the Provera...Take the test. If it is neg, consult with your doctor for further examination.

If you aren't pregnant, then it sounds like something has really got your system out of whack. Irregular or missed periods can be caused by a number of things, including fibroids and PCOS. If it turns out you aren't pregnant, you might request that your dr do an ultrasound to see if there is evidence of another problem. Hopefully nothing's wrong, and you'll have a happy positive pregnancy test.

You could be pregnant. On the other hand, maybe your period is just irregular right now. Good luck!

when people say you can't get your period without ovulating, that so is not true, many people are ignorant to the fact that many women have a period without ovulating
