I quit when we were ready to start trying, I had 1 regular cycle, and was pregnant, but miscarried at 8 weeks. If you are going to go off it, use another method of birth control and allow yourself at least 2 regular cycles off the pill. My dr. said that was probably the main reason for the miscarriage, so just make sure you have all the hormones out of your system before you really try!! Good Luck!

Finish the pack that you are on then after you have your cycle wait for a month to start trying to concieve. That was all the birth control is out of your system & your body is back to normal. I hope this helps! Good Luck :)

You should stop when you're ready to become pregnant. While some people become pregnant in the first month off the pill, it can take a while for your cycles to return to normal patterns of ovulation and menstruation-sometimes as long as six months. Have a pre-conception visit with your health care provider, and discuss your plans. Take pre-natal vitamins, which include sufficient folic acid which can help prevent neural tube defects, eat right, get exercise and sleep, stop using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and all the other right things, and when you're ready, come off the pill.

Most doctors recommend being off of birth control for three months before attempting a pregnancy. But with my experience, I have gotten pregnant with all 3 of my girls within a month of going off of the pill. Being right off the pill can actually cause you to be more fertile and become pregnant faster then you normal would. And they actually have found no harmful side effects from pregnancies right off of the pill, it's more of a precaution.

I stopped taking the pill about 6 months before I conceived the first time (it was a chemical pregnancy). We used condoms for the six months because we wanted my body to be in optimal condition...no chemicals from the pill. We waited one cycle and then tried again and now I am 5 weeks pregnant! I would at least stop 3 months prior to trying...all the while taking prenatal vitamins. You should have at least 2 normal cycles before trying to conceive.

Finish the pack you're currently on. It's usually best not to stop in the middle of a pack. It may take a few months for your cycle to get back to normal. When I went off the pill, I had longer cycles for a little while. This may make it harder for you to tell if you're pregnant or not, but it is safe to start TTC as soon as you're off the pill.

Depend what pill you are on, if u are taking a pill with estrogen then you can get preggers straight away. But if you have been taking the mini pill (pop) then it could take months and months! Most women who come off the POP pill get pregnant in 6-12 months.

Good luck

YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR BIRTH CONTROL WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO HAVE A BABY.

Stop taking it once you're ready to start TTC. It takes time for it to get out of your system, but that does not mean that you should stop before you're ready.....because then you could find yourself pregnant before you're ready.

Good luck!!!!!
