superman, bullet proof glass, vest, etc... any material too thick for a bullet to penetrate. A .22 can be stopped by bone and a 44 can go through an engine block. It all depends on the bullet.

The fight between bullet and armor is an ongoing battle. One can put enough armor for no bullet to go trough however it will make the armor impossible to move. So we always have a tradeoff between safety and mobility. Today a good body amour is a vest consisting of ceramic armor plates and Kevlar fabric. The weight to safety ratio is consciously increases with the materials improvement in performance and reduction in weight.
So to answer you question I need to know what is a bullet that you have in mind.
I would not recommend catching it with your teeth.

Sure, water. Anything that's thick enough will stop any bullet.
Addendum---Sure, bullets can go through some water before stopping, but that's true of anything else that the bullet is fired into, except a vacuum.

A bullet can be stopped best by not firing it.
A bullet also cannot get through a blocked barrel.
Beyond that, one would ask what caliber bullet, and is it for a personal protection, or for an object/building?
Different methods are applicable for each, depending on what are your requirements.
