can I do?

He's home from work today, thought the cat (always indoors) would like the snow and ice, put a harness on him and had him slipping around out there "skating" trying to make a funny video ... probably for about a half an hour.

He finally brings the cat back in the house, and the cat is limping and can barely walk .. he calls me all in a panic!

I told him to take the cat to the vet immediately, but he's afraid to drive in the snow, and I can't leave work.

Help, anyone know what I can do?

Your cat needs to go to the vet ASAP or thats it for him. Tell your man to grow some balls.

The chance of severe frostbite in this cat is minimal if he was out with him for only a half an hour. Probably the cats paws were cold. Hold the cat and rub lightly on the paw tissue. Examine the tissue for blisterlike marks and keep the cat warm. Avoid hot water and other things that will put the cat into discomfort. Chances are, Kitty will be quite ok. Good luck.

Your cat should be fine with a little bit of time. It's probably only something to worry about if it persists for more than a few hours. Keep in mind hands take while to warm up. Plenty of cats end up out in the snow. I would be more worried about the cat's muscle and skeletal condition. Cats should NEVER be pulled. Obviously you know that, and surely your husband does now.

You need to get the cat to a vet, ASAP!!! If its paws stay frostbitten to long without treatment the cat may never have use of its legs again. Your husband should put away his fear of driving in snow and think of what's better for the cat...if he still won't take the cat to the vet you need to get off work- your boss should understand and just take the cat yourself. (If you have to wait until after work then tell your husband to wrap the cat's paws in warm cloth but not to tight until you get off work if it's not to late).Good Luck

You all are obviously ignorant, and the cat is probably hurting. Tell him to get over his fears of driving in the snow and get your cat to the vet. That was very mean, and I don't even like cats.

Tell your boss that you have an emergency to take care of and hopefully he let you take of your kitty.
It was not your husbands fualt that your kitty might have frostbite but, if you can't leave work, then he is going to have to make the sacrifice and drive through the snow anyway.
Just incase he won't do it, tell your boss the situation and take care of your kitty.
You could even ask a neighbor to take the kitty to the vet.

I hope that this helps you out
and may God bless you!

call the vet to be sure if you need to bring the cat in, there is no reason to spend 100's of $$ if the vet can't do anything for the cat. I know you love your cat, but there is only so much vets can do for animals, especially when they can't talk.

If you can't get real advice, do this ..
Put the cat's paws in COLD water. Let his paws warm up to that first. Then you should dry the cat off and keep him bundled up and warm.

Now slap your husband for being a jackass.

Better get that straight-jacket and don't let him out of the house again.

This is a helpless cat who did not ask for this to happen to it. Your husband needs to walk to the vet and carry the cat or call a cab. Good thing you do not have children yet. You might have had a child with a broke arm from his irresponsibility with him to afraid to drive to the hospital.

Wow. Your husband's not very intelligent. I mean. Tell him to try skating on ice with barefeet. REALLY ABSURD of him. Anyways, massage your cat's feet in warm water. GENTLY! Since your husband's a pussy [no pun intended] and can't take the cat to the vet ASAP. I would suggest CALLING a vet and asking ASAP. not asking it on Yahoo! Answers.
