the Inkspell series and the Door Within trilogy are both really good. (the third Inkspell isn't out yet and the Door Within has a Christian spin to it like Narnia, tho i think that just makes it better).
Peace and God bless

I would agree with Piers Anthony, his stuff is a bit odd, but quite good. Another good author is Terry Brooks. Check out the Magic Kingdom For Sale books, and the Shannara books are both very good series. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is interesting, the first 3-4 books are excellent, but they are all 1000+ pages in soft cover and there are currently 11 of them and the series is not finished yet. From what I hear it is not too good anymore, but I stopped reading after the 4th, but you can check out some of the reviews and see if you are interested, just look up Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan, and Piers Anthony on a search engine (google or whatever) and they may be good choices for you.

If you like the fantasy genre, you can try the Xanth books by Piers Anthony. He is a science fiction/fantasy writer. The first 3 books in the series are the best, although there are MANY in the series. The first book is called "A Spell For Chameleon". Enjoy!
