Hmmm. I am not sure if you are referring to the "hit man" persona or that area roughly...
These types are usually psychopathic, meaning they have no conscious so it has no impact on them personally, they just don't care/have no guilt.
The bullying types usually have many others backing them up so they don't have to worry about anything... the "guys" who protect them will take care of their dirty business. It is a matter of loyalty based purely on fear.

movies are all wrong, mafia types are anything but lazy when "at work". They just like to wind down and relax in their free time, precisely to get rid of stress.
