I'm anxious to test, my AF should come thursday if i werent preggo but it doesnt feel like t's coming. Usually i have an increased appetite, im wired but that, and m breasts hurt but this time is different.,Yea my breasts are tender and hurt a little when you touch them, frequent urination, tired allll the time, im nauseous. I was wondering if i could test now or should i just wait until my period is late...which i can do??

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

Usually a pregnancy test will be accurate around the time your period is due, but it is different for every woman. Some tests are more sensitive than others and can usually detect a pregnancy before your period is due. Look on the boxes for how much HcG they measure and use the one with the smallest number for best results. Good luck!

You can test now. Some tests allow you to test up to 5 days before your missed period...IF the test comes out neg, and you dont have a period, I would go to the doctor and have a blood test. If that comes out neg also, he or she may have to do further testing. good luck
