I think several of the points in the movie "Man of the Year" (starring Robin Williams) were awesome and thought-provoking. Do you think that they will get the American people thinking in time for the Presidential election of 08? Or was it all entertainment and irrelevant to "real life"?

Some of his best points, I thought, were these:

* That because candidates spend so much, they always owe somebody something at some point.
* That we should start picking Congress like a jury
* That we rely to heavily on "Party Politics"

What are your thoughts?

Y'all are right. Politicians don't care about "stupid movies." But voters do.

party loyalties need to go, that was the number point, and i agree.

the producer's fiscal ideals i didn't agree with, we have a national defecit, we have for nearly a hundred years, and as long as we are a superpower we always will have a national defecit.

all in all it was a good film, it did a good job portraying what i thought was overall unbiased to any party and showed what i believe to be wrong with politics. i would recomend it to anybody.

Oh yeah I can see a comedian running for President.. I would vote for him.

I think there were very interesting ideas. But is it realistical.
I really like the idea that he was up front and honest with what he had done and what he planned to continue doing. I do think it sucks that the nominies are allowed to lie and slander each other. It is not fair to the rest of us that has to trust someone. We really have no choice but to trust that they will take care of us. But if they get up there and lie then how can you fully trust them.
Anyway I don't think the way they do things will change anytime soon. It benifits them and only them and that is what they want. They can get in there and not pay Social Security and Medicare but recieve a pention and insurance plan that is more than we will probably make in our life time. But who are we to judge them and their motives, RIGHT? Ha Ha.. Vote me in there and I'll change it all. Gosh..

It would be nice wouldn't it? Unfortunately there are so few if any politicians these days who have a sincere interest in doing what is truly right for americans it seems.
