i dont know how to act when i meet new people, like friends of friends. i just stand there being really shy, any really good things to do when you meet new people? please help

Well you can intract with them, by takling abotu the things you think you have in common, not sure how old you are, but mayeb abotu school, where they go, what they study? what they like to do at their free time? just be open, and try not to think negative things all the time - try to be very ncie to them and open , smile and just be yourself :)

Be yourself is the age old advice and it's true. If you are feeling shy just relax and be casual... try not to impress. Only talk about things you know and stay away from politics and religon! :)

Introduce yourself and let them talk to you or the group. Chime in when you hear them talking about something that is relevant to your life.
Or, just ask them how they are, what they are doing (if it's in a school setting, ask them what they are studying..then go deeper with more questions/dialogue).
People like to talk about themselves. So figure out some key questions to ask that get people to talk about themselves.

be yourself most of all but also asking questions is a good way to come out of your shell because the more you know about them the more comfy you will feel.. and that also means that they will ask you questions..
