you could incredibly say that Sir Trevor McDonald replaced into giving it decrease back yet in the eyes of a few human beings it incredibly is nonetheless racism. the persons who in all possibility complained under no circumstances for sure heard any of his jokes or observed any of his stand ups. Bernard Manning would have discovered this humorous because of the fact the comedian tale would have been applicable up his alley. you basically could take it easy hearted. in spite of the undeniable fact that if it replaced right into a white individual asserting this some black individual there would be extra then basically seventy seven-one hundred atypical lawsuits. there would be 1000's. The mans ineffective it replaced right into a easy hearted comedian tale. some human beings have not have been given any theory.

More than likely he had an on going contract with ITV when they axed News at 10, so rather than have to give him a big pay off they offered him his 'own show'. What celeb ego wouldn't accept?
Or
With it being a current affairs prog, the powers that be probably thought that having a respected former news reader presenting would give it a bit more credability.

When Trevor Mcdonald retired from ITV as anchorman newsreader...they gave him his own program. He starts the program and ends the program.

Because he lends a statesmanlike gravitas to the news. You believe it or care about it more when Trev says it. Its because he was the face of news for a generation growing up and in our minds he's forever linked with serious news broadcasting as well as his wee 'and finally..' bit at the end.

He's like Alfred Hitchcock when he did that 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents show..' he starts and ends things to lend it the authority and probity Trev has earned over the years
