mutually as a dogs are able to discover hormonal ameliorations in a pregnant human female's physique, it might have no clue as to what those ameliorations recommend. whether it is instincts would tell the dogs that she is extra susceptible and demands added secure practices. The dogs would not comprehend why and it would not care. all of it's responses are instinctive.

I've not researched this on any scientific level, but my best guess is yes.
I base this on our three dogs and one cat when my wife was pregnant.
I suspect that as her body chemistry was changing during fetal growth, her body expired off-gases from the hormones...and as we all know, dogs have a super-high scent ability.
Anyway - the cat and dogs knew something was going on as they started acting differently, especially in the last three months of gestation.

I have two dogs, male and female. They both started laying on my lower abdomen right before I found out I was pregnant. My female dog used to jump on me constantly, but has stopped on her own. They follow me around more and are very protective.

I dunno, but when my mom was pregnant her cat knew she was. The catwould lay on her stomach and rub his head on her stomach and all that. Then when we were born, the cat would lay next to us all the time like he was protecting us. SO yeah I guess it is possible for a dog to tell if a woman is pregnant.

I think one of my dogs can sense it. He usually stayed around my husband all the time, but now he follows me around and as soon as I head to bed he follows me to go to sleep.

Mine seemed to understand, even though it's a male dog. He was gentler around me, and became very protective of me.
