Many new laptops should have a wireless card built in. Check for a WiFi indicator on your laptop. If there isn't one, maybe you have a card anyway. Either try Internet Explorer in range of a WiFi signal and if you can get on, you have a wireless card. Otherwise, there should be some bars in your system tray, indicating the signal strength of the signal you will get. If you don't see any of these signs or signals, maybe try another store that sells USB adapters. They pick up signals and are the size of a USB drive (thumb, flash, jump, whatever people call them).

there are a few kinds of cards that fit in a laptop...pcmcia and one other ...(cardbus...which has a notch at the end of the card where it inserts). try to figure out what type of card your laptop takes, and then find a wireless card that si the same type. i will look to see what kinds there are...what model of laptop do you have? why isnt it fitting (is it too thick, too wide, jsut wont engage, what?)

You might be using the wrong slot. What kind of laptop is it? What kind of card? What store did you get it at?
You should ask one of the techs at the store's customer service to help you out.

Take the card back for a refund. Then take your laptop back to where you bought it, and have them find the right size card for you.
