My page works on IE wihtout a hitch..but my friend who uses Firefox said she can't open the page. This is what is happening: when you open the page, the flash loads, but when you click on a link that opens a fullscreen page , the page doesnt open. The link is from a Flash button that calls a javascript outside of Flash that creates a full pop-up page to show the Flash-movie. I dont know what else to look for in Firefox to allow it. I've unchecked the pop-up filter to allow pop-ups and that still didnt do that. Any dieas?

Maybe she's missing a plug in. Why doesn't she just use ie for the site?

I use firefox and I've noticed this. Under the options you can force pages to open in new tabs instead of new windows and for some reason pop ups like you describe won't open at all. I just use a plugin which enables me to switch rendering engine to IE but as a web developer you can't expect every one to do this. I don't know script wise how to fix it but if I were you i'd get firefox (much much better than IE anyway) and then get the developers tool bar ( http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/ ) and just test out aload of stuff.

by way of fact java and flash are no longer loose or non-commericial, those 2 plug-ins are no longer area of the sturdy synaptic applications. For flash, I used a how-to from the Ubuntu boards and now, every time there is an Adobe replace, i'm getting notified. For java, I downloaded the solar java kit. by way of fact I actually have a sixty 4-bit device, I used Ubuntu boards to place in a third celebration plug-in to run cyber web pages with java. So, persist with link under. it may desire to be you have the plug-ins and an common Sym-link will restoration it. The boards is the place i stumble on the actual advice for my Ubuntu set-up. playstation , I wager in the previous too long, you by no skill boot into XP. :)

Check your javascript syntax IE is more forgiving than other browsers javascript.

make sure you are using the proper window.open documented here.

http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/DOM:window.open

Usually if it works in firefox it works in IE.

Welcome to the world of web development. Lesson 1.....Cross browser javascript.

Check your javascript console under tools for an error message if firefox is not acting correctly.

Good Luck

You may check for the Flash plug-ins installed on your friends PC. OR check for Java script is Enabled in Firefox!

Check for Java script:
Tools --> Options and select Content Tab.

Check for Flash plug-in:
