I like metal music where they actually sing the lyrics and can actually understand them. I like bands like Killstich Engage, Atreyu, Slipknot, Metallica. Are there any band out there that are similar to them but not as well known?

Dude, my homie just told me about a new metal "supergroup" called "Hell Yeah!" made up of former members of Mudvayne & Pantera ... that oughta be metal enough.

So you want metal with clear understandable vocals?
Off the top of my head the metal bands I can think of with clear vocals are:
Sonata Arctica
Edguy
Iron Maiden
Blind Guardian
Charon
The Kunst Conspiracy (new and not really popular yet but you can find them on myspace)
Nightwish (female opera singer)
Jag Panzer (some tracks)
Therion
Hammerfall
Tyr
HIM
Battlelore
Leaves' Eyes
There's a LOT of different styles in that short list so have fun experimenting with new music.
By the way, Cruel mentioned some incredibly good bands, but most of them have harsh, gravelly vocals.

Sorry, hun, but you don't listen to metal at all. You listen to this NU commercial metal-core or rap-metal garbage. It's all commercially-oriented and lacks the substance which is a trademark characteristic of TRUE metal.
I would name a couple of true metal bands but hell, I wouldn't want them to be disgraced by being listened to by such n00bs.

Try something a little different. Rammstein. They are from Germany, and sing in German, but man its cool and they can P.L.A.Y!! I recommend Mutter (Mother).

Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Tool (kinda counts, i guess)
