Don't go to the emergency room for a pregnancy test. It is *not* an emergency, plus it costs you a lot of money (or the rest of us, if insurance or the state picks up the tab).

Plus, depending on the ER, they might not have the quantitative HCG analyzer that you would need to get better results than a home pregnancy test. So it's a waste of your time, as well as the ER docs.

If you don't have a doctor of your own, call up a local family-planning clinic (like Planned Parenthood). They'll be able to hook you up with some low-cost testing.

Chances are the blood test will take time to come back anyway. I have never heard of an er visit for a pg test. How late is your period? Most pregnancy tests will show an accurate positive before the date your period is due. All of them should show once it is late (assuming your cycle is regular) Going to the er is not going to get you the information any faster. You are better off going into the dr and having them run an HCG to see if you may have experienced a chemical pregnancy.

Chances of 3 tests being wrong after your period is already missed is not likely.

yes, but why do you have to go to the ER? Why don't you just call your family doctor or call your OB gyn and have them do it. It would be cheaper to do it that way.
And having a blood test done to see if your pregnant is 100% accurate. Better then a home pregnancy test!
