By goofing off, I mean checking your stocks, fantasy teams, sports scores, celebrity news, messageboards, Yahoo Answers, digg.com, conversing with co-workers, playing online games..etc.

Sadly I spend about 2-3 hours doing actual work & the rest of the day is goofing off.

In a 15 hour day (I'm self employed), I do about 8 hours of solid work I think. Sometimes I have to go to the library to just sit down and focus on what I have to do. But I also get stuff done on my pocket pc phone, so if I'm on the toilet, I'm responding to emails and/or gathering research on whatever projects I'm working on, so I kind of make up for it.

I prefer to work by myself now because I don't get distracted by other employees in the office. I do get bothered by my friends on IM or Skype, but generally I can focus a lot better.

Way too much time goofing off, but only if I have nothing to do. I have a lot of down time at work...probably half & half if I had to estimate.

I spend 1 hour "goofing of" as you put it - but thats only during my lunch hour. The other 7 hours I am working.

If I was to do anything else, I would lose my job.
