If they aren't from Africa then how could they be African? They would just be either British, Spanish, German or whatever depending on what country they are from. I never call black Americans 'African American' unless they or their parents were born in Africa. I just call them black.

I don't know about Germans, but the French do not hyphenate French citizens who are born in France. Either they are identified as just French or just Algerian or just whatever.

it form of feels in the previous couple of years that further and further human beings delight in embracing their history or the place their ancestors immigrated from. except we are interior of sight american (i ask your self how they sense approximately that call?) all of us have immigrant ancestors. i think of for some human beings there is delight in claiming their ethnicity. Irish/Am, Asian/Am, Italian/Am, etc.... i do no longer think of absolutely everyone seems to be attempting to offend absolutely everyone else, even though it may seem much less divisive if we would all in simple terms call ourselves individuals. the human beings who easily are attempting to be offensive continuously have the potential to come again up with something fairly grotesque to call yet somebody else fairly than in simple terms relating their u . s . a . of foundation. i easily have such various diverse immigrant ancestors i assume that they had could desire to call me mongrel/american. (-: If it bothers you, possibly you may desire to tell human beings it bothers you. which you're an American.

Afro-Caribbean, African-Latin. I don't know about Europe the population is so small you rarely hear about them. Lennox Lewis calls himself black.
