They have had their big wins and their big losses. USC can be really good on a given night (swept both Arizona AND Oregon) or really bad (last Sunday's loss to Arizona State). With their brutal PAC-10 schedule they certainly deserve the ranking, but the RPI is keeping them low due to non-conf. strength of schedule, and as dangerous as they can be, consistency is what is preventing them from rising higher in the polls

USC's wins were at home. Yes, one was against Stanford, but the Trojans have been so Jekyll and Hyde this year, probably related to whether they are on home court, no one's going to be impressed until they win a game off their home court. I think you should worry more about seeding. A trip to the Pac-10 final, not necesarily out of the realm but probably requiring another upset of UCLA, gets you guys a 4 seed.

They don't play ranked teams. To move up you need to beat as many ranked teams as possible. And trust me they get LOVE!
