Your RTC(recruit training command) will be at Great Lakes Illinois.
The best time would be in the early fall mid September.
My son was there in July and in those buildings where they "train" the heat is excruciating.

That depends on what the weather is going to be where you do your basic training. Believe me, you don't want to be in the South or on the East in the summer!
