He is a spineless disgrace. During the 2000 election cycle George Bush attacked McCain's family and accused him of having black babies (like it's a bad thing.) McCain played the political snake and backed Bush's re-election in '04.
McCain won't stand up for his own family. Don't think for a minute that he will stand up for yours.
So then to the question: do you care what McCain thinks and if so, why?

Here is a link to Bush's "black baby" statements for the respondant who asked. There are many more available if you don't like the source. I apologize for assuming that everybody paid attention to politics:

And to the other poster: being a POW doesn't give you a spine; standing up for yourself does.

Yes, McCain is a apologist for Bush on all fronts! I do respect McCain for his military service, but it does not mean he knows what he is talking about on all military matters. For example, he takes an idealistic approach to the crisis in Iraq, thinking that by simply putting more forces on the ground ( in a civil war)that it will some how turn the situation around. That goes against simple logic, lets look at it on a very human level. The Shiites outnumbers the Sunnies, the Shiites control most of the government. So one side kills the other sides family, so what will the other side do, they want retribution, so they kill in return, and it goes on and on. What do our American troops are supposed to do. Police them, right? But Shiites and Sunnies who hate Americans anyway, both will kill our troops given the opportunity. So how does putting more American troops on the ground stop the sides from killing?
Iraq situation could be analogous to what would happen in our country: If there were no laws in our country and you could not trust the police and army who would you turn to protect yourself? You would turn to yourself and your family and to who could trust. You would seek revenge and retribution to any of your family members death.
What is so ironic in the Iraq situation is, the very people our government need to step up to stop the killings are the same people causing it. Tell me does that logic make sense to you?
So McCain and Bush is wrong!

I actually DO care what he thinks since he has a decent shot at his party's nomination.
What I find hypocritical is him posting this question. Suddenly, after his participation in the spending orgy of the last 6 years, McCain is concerned over "wasteful spending"?
Mr. McCain, YOU are the US Senator. YOU ought to have a pretty good idea what YOU consider wasteful since YOU should be more familiar than we are with the federal budget. After all, YOU vote for the budget every year. We don't.
How about YOU tell us what YOU consider wasteful, instead of suddenly trying to act like YOU had nothing to do with running up the obscene deficits?
Be precise. Tell us exactly what you would cut and why.

Anyone who does NOT care about John McCain and what he thinks should take a step back and realize that he has a very good shot at being the next president of the United States.
Just because you don't agree with every decision he's made, don't discount his enormous power and political savvy.

I would like to see a link to read for myself just exactly how George Bush attacked McCain's family...I would like to see his words and not go off yours....but putting that aside...although I respect Mr. McCain for his service to this country in vietnam...because he doesn't support Christian's...I can not support him.

Well, I definitely don't care what he thinks but I do find it interesting to see who he's going to be buttering up this week. I can't believe the flip flopping this guy does. He's a total weasel and I don't trust a word that comes out of his Geoge Bush-butt-kissing mouth.

No.
He is no better than the rest of the Bums in Washington. I honor him for his service in Nam but he ran out of gas 6 years ago when he decided he wanted to be Pres.
There is a nice pasture for this old war horse someplace in Az.
Put him and the rest of Bums out to pasture in 08! ALL OF UM!

Yeah, that's right...a guy that was a prison of war and tortured by the Viet Cong for four years is "spineless." I bet you wouldn't last a day. I may not like his opinions, but I sure wouldn't call an ex POW "spineless!"

Well, whether you like this answer or not he is about the only one out there that has any sense and "makes any sense"...as for GW he's a nitwit for attacking anyones family. Political snake or not (aren't they all?) he's still the only one that will actually speak out!
