The self-righteous generally see EVERYONE but themselves as a lower lifeform. Different races and ethnicities, different cultures and nationalities, different religions and denominations, different sexual orientations, different sexes, different heights, different socio-economic background. Whatever. Doesn't matter. I guess that's kinda what being self-righteous is all about. I guess that's also why it's so much fun to screw with self-righteous people's heads....

Basically I think they do.... It's just plain bigotry. I am gay and I tell you it was not a choice. Sure, I love a life of people hating me for no reason, living without a family, and not being able to do much about it. (I was being sarcastic).
But I find the biggest problem is gay society itself. They have been rejected and have become a people of their own. Which would be cool except I'm not like the people they have become. I'm just a regular guy. I don't want to act like a woman and I don't want to date someone does. I'm a man and I want a man. It was not my choice. It's just the way the way it is.
Just to prove how bigoted people are... watch how many thumbs down votes I get on answering this question. I just answered honestly and some people will give me a thumbs down just because they can't handle it.

I'm sure that a lot of the negative attitudes are religiously based.
And, of course, a lot of guys are almost humorous in the way that they seem to have to convince themselves of their "maleness" (as opposed to femininity). I'm talking about the whole "tough talking, tough acting, shoulder-slugging" macho thing. They don't want ANYONE thinking that they have any kind of softness, because they associate that with being effeminate.
The really bizzare thing is how hetro couples (or individuals) manage to "justify" their particular kink - because its a "hetero kink" - but OMG, not same-sex relationships.
I wrote in my blog about a hypothetical couple next door; a handsome guy and an attractive woman. And one day you're shooting the bull around the barbecue grill with the guy, sipping a cool one, and the conversation turns sort of adult, and he announces that he and his wife are occasionally into "clown sex." They put on orange wigs and red noses.
And you think to yourself, OK...sounds a little kinky, but who cares. It aint my business. It's two married, consenting adults doing what they want in privacy.
But...now
What if instead of this attractive hetero couple, you had a couple men living together next door. Nothing real kinky; no "clown sex." Just two guys.
Is that somehow more of a problem? If so, why?

Those that think that also have the holier than thou attitude about a lot of things. There are a lot of straight people that have no issue with being gay or straight and just accept people as they are. There are a lot of gay people that are anti-religion or anti anything, just like there are a lot of straights that have their biases. Bigots are bigots regardless if they are anti christian, anti gay, anti black, or anti american. It is OK to have an opinion but if you use your opinion to steamroller others, it is wrong regardless of orientation, race, creed etc..

Do we see minorities of any sort as lower life forms? Do we see those with low IQs as lower life forms? Do we see those with birth defects as lower life forms? The designation or formation of these categories has little if anything to do with self-righteousness. So why would the gay category be any different?

no. im gay and have plenty of amazing straight friends, male and female. i also don't think it has to do with being straight, and many gays aren't out of the closet and suffer from ego dystonic homophobia. i think has to do with education and socioeconomic background. i guess my town is kind of a political hub since bill and hillary live here, but it's three to one democratic and there is almost no homophobia. westchester county just ruled to honor same-sex marriages, and my school's GSA, the longest standing GSA in westchester county, just organized a transgendered day last year, where hundreds of students showed up throughout the day on their free time to see our speaker.

I'm straight, and I don't see gay people as lower life forms. I've never really understood how someones sexual orientation could define them as a person. To me, it's just like hair color or income. Something petty that has no influence on what kind of person someone is.
People who think that it's "disgusting" or "immoral" have obviously been brainwashed by their bigot parents or the church.

It really depends on the person and their attitude. Not all straight people have the same attitude. I think some of the more narrow minded people may think that, but who cares what they think.

There is nothing lower than breeders being irresponsible parents and over populating this planet. This queer has been financially supporting and educating your little bastards via my taxes. If we are considered 2nd class citizens by straights then we should have reduced or no taxes. Kiss my grits!!!!!!!!!
