I think you are saying that you want to marry a first cousin (daughter of one of your parent's siblings). There are potential genetic risks in that, but they are risks, not certainties. Whatever genetic problem you or your cousin may have can become more important in your offspring. Consult with a physician and check the legal and religious aspects as in some places and within some religions it is either not permitted or you may requiere a special permit or dispensation.

i had read an article about this...its true that there is a great chance of problems with children, in fact twice as much. that sounds horrible without numbers so here.....non-related couple have a 3% chance of a child with some issue....related couples have a 6% chance. so while its is double, it is still pretty low.

i personally know, through marriage, a family who had married cousins. they have four children and no problems.

It can lead to birth defects but not always. In the olden days, people used to marry their cousins all the time. In some states it is illegal though so check to find out.

What is a cousin sister? Whatever it is, find someone who is not one of them. There are a lot of people out there, you don't need to marry your cousin sister.

It is if you have the same blood type get blood tests first before you make the decision, go see a doctor for better information, but it is a higher risk if you both have the same blood type

Your cousin's sister? Last time I checked, my cousin's sister was also my um.......cousin!

Anyway, I think you can safely marry your second cousin but not your first.

Um, wrong. Wrong on so many levels. Just wrong. If you're willing to go against the law of nature and risk having babies with birth defects, then hey, to each his own.
But it's oh so wrong!

If she's your cousin's sister, isn't she your cousin?
