I personally think that the only reason for divorcce should be if your spouse commits adultery. But i feel for your situation. If I brought in an alien and not she is a resident i would personally want her residentcy revoked and her deported immediatly. But i dont really know the legal procedures and exceptable reasons for divorce because im only 14=D. I am 100% sure you would not lose your house if you and your wife were not expecting a baby but now im not too sure. Be sneaky and tackful in a reason for divorce and a reason why you should get custody of the child. But im pretty sure you still wont lose your home because they are registered in your name. Good luck.

Get an attorney asap, preferebly one whos expertise lies in these mail order brides.
I am sorry for what you are going through, but this is probably what she has been counting on. Funny, my old neighbor (mid 60's and retired from the military) recently married a young Filipino woman and they had a baby. then all of a sudden, he sold everything he ever owned and moved to the Filipines.
I heard he was moving back, broke and alone.
:-(
If something seems to good to be true, it usually is.
live and learn and good luck.

How much your wife is 'entitled' to depends on the state of your residence. Anything obtained DURING the marriage is usually 50-50 - assets you obtained before the marriage vary state by state.

The easiet and most amicable way to divorce [how my hubby and I did it] was to sit down and agree to the division of material assets; amount of child support etc. We then drew up our own decree [using a format we found in the library] and filed it ourselves.

Work out your problems in the marriage. A divorce isnt going to solve anything. Kids need both a mother and father to raise them, and when you are divorced it makes this much much more difficult. You will only be causing problems for yourself, your wife, and the baby.

You need a good attorney. If she was a US citizen, I'd say you'd probably lose 1/2 of it all.

Since she has a child in this country, chances are, she's going to be allowed to stay in this country with her child.

I would definately try to get as much visitation (if not custody) of the child, and keep the spousal support to a minimum, if any.

My uncle divorced and it didn't really effect him. But did his kid (my cousen) he now has serious issues. I don't know why it is but the child no matter what age is hugely effected. Have you tried counseling? Its a great way to see into each others lifes and get a view of what they think. Try all you can before a divorce.

The best way to do this is try to work it out first and if that dont work the go through with the divorce but its not good cause you have a baby but atleast try to work it out.

a marriage is a contract .in order to end it there must be a reason like default .no stand up for yourself .if you believe that you aren't at fault then say so. also if the home is yours live in it and tell her to leave by court order . you must provide your child if it is yours with love and security . not your spouse if she has faulted in marriage . get a attorney who fights for married men . Men are hardly ever at fault these dayd . but the courts are living in the dark ages . women aren't equal partners anymore .

Take her back to the Island and leave her there. Tell her to never come back to the States or it will be very bad, then take your kid and go home. After a few years you can file on her for abandonment.
