I Personally Can't Stand Mr. bush But We As Americans Allow This To Happen "Idiot In The White House" If As Many People Protested Now As They Did In The 60s There Would Be No Way For Anyone To Fix The Polls I Believe He Is The President By Default Only daddy Had A Hand In It As Well.

I am not affiliated with any particular party, but I will say that for a very long time the Republican Party has relied on Big Business to pad their pockets. I think the president's idiocy is based on his need to pad his own pockets, since he has ties to Big Oil. He does not care about soldier's lives. As for America insisting on having an idiot for a President, I think that Bush duped a lot of people into thinking that he was and is a truthful, honest Christian who cares about us. That is why a lot of Americans insisted on having him for President. The electoral college system, I believe is also corrupt. I am sure that many electors are bribed into voting for a certain party. I am sure that Bush does not care at all about a single life that has been lost in the senseless war in Iraq. He does put on a false caring face well though.

Did you see our choices? Idiot A or Idiot B. Only idiots can afford and/or are willing to run? No. Bush is a Harvard MBA graduate. He's not an idiot.
I'm not sure exactly what the problem is except that it seems like the people have lost control over government. There is too much animosity and cynicism. As our world becomes increasingly complex due to progress, etc. then it's harder for a lot of people to understand. It's easier for idiots and self-centered folks to get elected and take over. Don't you remember high school?
Most Americans are decent and hard-working but because of that, we get taken advantage of and we're too tired/too poor to really fight. If I could take time off of work then I would be protesting, writing letters, lobbying hard but I have bills to pay. I don't want to be homeless. I have a family. Look at celebrities and rich folks, their lives are typically a mess. But they are money hungry and power hungry, so family isn't important. They become obsessed with achieving their personal goals. Don't you feel stress to do more? I do.

Well, I can answer it very simply, because the overall quality of men and women in this country has degraded due to coddling from our system to the point that people like Cheney and Bush, as well as Clinton and Kerry are the best and brightest we have. If we wanted to change this, we would have to make some very hard choices in life, but since Americans are more concerned with what other people think, especailly those from other countries, this will probablly never happen. We are Rome ladies and gentalmen, in its dying days. This is what happens when you coddle the weak, emasculate men, blur the gender lines and enforce political (apoligetics?). If women would stay out of mans business, and let men be men, and vice versa we would be fine, now, before all you bra burners get mad, Im not saying that we go back to a patriarchial male dominated system. But, if we are going to have equality, lets have acutal equality, across the board. Also, parents, beat the stupidity out of your children, please, everyone else will thank you. If you have one of those children that dont need to be spanked, then kudos for you, but most children are like me, and need a little swat once in awhile. Teach your children to love learning and to respect others, and by respect I dont mean fawn over someone, thats just stupid, but respect someone else enough to let them live their own lives and you worry about yours. Teach your children about life, dont let the school's do it, and for heavens sake, one of you needs to stay at home with the kids, this both parents working thing is what really damaged things the most. So, I hope that all this anwers your question of why Bush, and more importantly Cheney who is the real threat, got into office.

David D, are you actually in the same universe that we are??? Begging, begging for f---king BUSH??? Yeah, I wish that all the Peace, roaring Economy and budget surplus we enjoyed after Clinton fixed W's Daddy's nightmare never happened. You are a MORON, anyone that STILL supports this Nazi is a raging idiot! He has killed more innocent with his "war on terror" that will make the USA the target of radicals for decades to come. We can spend Billions, BILLIONS on a war that has not produced: Those responsible for 9/11, the terrorists that funded it or ANY weapons of Mass Destruction! But, let POOR people die in the streets and get raped in New Orleans, and GOOD OLD BUSH stands there like the idiot he is shaking his bobblehead looking retarded as ever! It is impossible to comprehend people in this country still support this murderer!! THAT is why America will fall like all great empires before it did, because we are a country comprised of genius' like yourself and others on here that support this regime! Go read a history book and see what happens to greedy empires that start getting ate inside out by corruption and sit on their laurels. Oh, but you support Bush, so the ability to read or formulate an intelligent thought on your own behalf are beyond your capabilities. Sorry.

A reason why there is so little choice is that candidates are often selected from "old boys clubs." such as Skull and Bones, CFR, etc. Check it out by Googling "CFR membership." Candidates' campaigns are financed by special interests, and candidates families are often connected to industries that profit from federal contracts or specific legislative activites. Mainstrean media spins the candidates based on the interests of the owners or stockholders.
That's why voters often choose the percieved lesser of two evils.
We don't actually have a democracy. It's a plutocracy, or as it's often called a "corporatocracy." A relative few rich and well-connected people are running the show.
In today's world, old Honest Abe wouldn't have a chance!

We always long for a strong leader who does not do his job simply by reading the polls and doing what is popular. When we get one, people aren't smart enough to admire him.
This is a ridiculous question and obviously asked by someone who gets lead around by their nose by the news media and the goofs in Hollywood. We need a strong president! We have one. In 2 years we may not - and I have a feeling many will be regretting this.
I'm guessing you know that had you lived in Iraq when Saddam was in charge and you asked a similiar question about him - you would not be among the living. President Bush deserves our respect and people like you are the real idiots.

Well, It's tradition. I mean- look at the hillbilly they elected before him! He liked to smoke them see garrs and chase the womens too! I don't see why everybody thinks bush is an idiot. Clinton lived by the Polls, Bush doesn't pay attention to them. maybe he is an idiot, but he's a principalled idiot. Oh- and I didn't vote for him in 2000. I did in 2004
I didn't vote for Clinton in 92 but was willing to give him a chance. He blew it.
People that actually pay real attention to polictics (I listen to Rush AND NPR) to try to glean the truth don't think he's an idiot.
You want idiocy? Teddy Kennedy.

Unfortunate that the last time Amercans were able to vote for a president..we only had the choice of idiots....we could either have the one we had, or the one that was potentially worse....we went with the one we had (although it was close)...of course we count ourselves lucky we could be stuck with a moron dictator for life or a royal family for generations
I have to disagree with the next poster...the presidential candidates do not represent the best and brightest of Americans...the best and brightest do not get into politics in the first place as it limits their potential and freedoms

America doesn't insist on having an idiot, Bush cronies do.
More Americans voted for Al Gore than voted for Bush. Unfortunately there were more righties on the Supreme Court who stopped the counting and gave the presidency to Bush in a decision that Rehnquist said should not be used to set a precedent (apparently he knew it was wrong too.)
More Americans also wanted Kerry but in certain states such as Florida and Ohio, either the voters were prevented from getting to the polls or their votes were not counted. Do some research. We basically have Junior Bush because of the republican crime network.
