I would have to say my father. There were 5 kids in my family and not a lot of extras of anything but my father worked very hard and made sure we had what we needed. He also taught me always to help the under dog and never quite trying on any thing. I worked my way through nurses training because I always wanted to be a nurse. Anything I am today is because of my father. He passed away in 1994 but he will always live in my heart.

Me, in the sense that I absorbed opinions and attitudes from lots of people (my parents and grandparents to begin with) but, as I developed and had more experience of life, kept re-examining, questioning, modifuing and synthesizing my stock of opinions and testing them in use/ That having been said, I think that the most important sources of my opinions are my father, my maternal grandmother. three or four teachers I encountered at various stages in life, my wife/companion, two children, and fout grandchildren that I am close to and three people (two I have known and one historical person) who had a negative impact that was useful: I reacted against them and their ideas and in examiining why, it sharpened my awareness of what I stood for. (There is also a handful of historical figures who had a major positive impact on me but I don't think I want to be forthcoming about these).

My parents. By making the mistakes they made in my childhood, I've become a much stronger person, I've acquired a real good ability to read peoples' true motivation, and I live by the credo: "Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes".
