I know Acadia and Outlook sort of replace it, but Ford has their Explorer and Freestyle running alongside eachother for four years now, since some people need a truck-based SUV that can tow something.

As George Bush Sr once said "Read my lips" - the Acadia does not replace the Envoy. Then again, remember the outcome of that statement...

The Acadia is postitioned between the Envoy and Yukon, and doesn't really overlap either of them. One big reason is towing capacity. GMC says if your customer needs to tow, steer them to Yukon or Envoy.

As far as I've heard, there is no replacement for the Envoy on the immediate horizon. But with $4,250 in incentives I don't think it will be long...

For 07 the Trailblazer and Envoy were supposed to get an entire redesign but it turned out to be just a face lift. The Envoy will be replaced by a crossover vehicle called the Acadia. It will have a V6 for now, but the engine bay is large enough to handle a V8, so a V8 should be coming in the future. Once you load up the Acadia with 7 passengers and a bunch of gear you really feel the need for a V8. The GMT600 platform should be replaced soon.
