Honestly I would have liked to see Babel win. The Departed was also excellent, but it did already win Best Director (an award Scorsese should have won years ago). I will say its a hard choice, as all of these are superb films (although I havent seen The Queen or Letters yet).

As Clint Eastwood said in Unforgiven.....Deserved???
However I believe that the best film was Letters from Iwo Jima (And the 2nd best this year was Flags of our Fathers) Seeing these together gives a really interesting prospective on this battle and the war as a whole....
However Clint already had a few Golden Guys and since the Academy has Already "dropped the ball" on Martin Scorsese too many times so they knew it was his "turn"....

I think Little Miss Sunshine deserved to win Best Picture. It's an awesome movie and I wish that Abigail Breslin would have won for her role in the movie.

My personal choice was "Letters from Iwo Jima", but I was happy to see "The Departed" win instead of "Little Miss Sunshine" since I did'nt think it was worthy of it, let alone being nominated. Fine, funny movie, just not best picture caliber.

I was pulling for Babel, The Departed, and Little Miss Sunshine so I was glad that The Departed one and I was estatic that Martin Scorcese finally won for best director.
