I am a big Kansas Jayhawk fan, and I was wondering what the chances of them getting a 1 seed are.

They are currently the 3rd ranked team in the AP poll as well as the ESPN/USA Today polls.

If you don't see them as a 1 seed, who are all your #1 seeds?

I think that the Jayhawks control their own destiny. If they win tonight then beat Texas in Lawrence on Saturday, then win the Big 12 tournament, then they should easily get a #1 seed, because it's very unlikely that UCLA, Florida, Ohio St., and UNC are all going to win their conference tournaments. The fact that the Big 12 tournament will be held in Oklahoma City this year does not really bode well, because Texas A&M and Texas both travel as well as Kansas fans, and the Jayhawks' normal de facto home court advantage won't hold.

The Jayhawks normally aren't at their best with high expectations. As a KU fan, I want a #1 seed as much as you do, but I'm not sure if it's necessarily in our best interest.

They definitely could, if it ended today they would have it. They need to finish out without a loss. If they win the Big 12 Tournament then I'd say they definitely get one. If they lose in the final round of the Big 12 tournament to say A&M then A&M will likely get the 1 seed in their place. However they could pull it off even with a loss in the final round, depending on how the other teams vying for the 1 seed do in their respective tournaments. And by god they need to with the history of their recent tournament appearances looming over their heads. It would help them get a 1 since a 16 has never beaten a 1 and probably won't this year either.

As of right now I do not think they will get a number 1 seed. They are a solid number 2. If the top teams keep losing, however, they are poised to obtain a number 1 seed. I belive that the four number 1 seeds are in this order: Ohio State, UCLA, Florida, UNC. They number 2 seeds in this order are: Kansas, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, and Georgetown.

kansas is definetly a number one seed they have had some early losses to oral roberts and depaul, but they have beaten oklahoma state by 30 when they were ranked #9 and not to forget about beating #1 florida..kansas is streaking and peaking at the right time, they also play defense and have beaten teams by 20 or more 13 times...if they win the big 12 they are a lock for a number 1 seed if they arent right now

They are playing great right now and they do deserve it but I don't see them getting a number 1 seed.

I think the number 1 seeds will be Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina, and UCLA.

Yes they are in position to get a one seed. But it depends on one scenario.... The big 12 tournament...

If Kansas wins it I would see the four number one seeds as
OSU
Kansas
UNC
UCLA

If one of them can't close out the deal in their confrence tourney look for Florida to move into one of them.

after UNC's miserable week, it looks like the #1's are UCLA, Ohio State, KANSAS, and likely Wisconsin...Florida and UNC (still) are the only other two legit contenders, should any surprises occur at the top in the last days of the season or the conf. tourneys.

As a KU fan, I hope they don't, even though they deserve it....they always manage to have a bad time when they are ranked 1st in the tourney.
