You simply issue a Revocation of Power of Attorney. Best to have it notarized, then give her and any institution you have business with certified copies. You can find a free revocation on the site below. All the best.

Hello Im a parelegal for the military hope this helps out.......A terimination clause should have been inserted into your POA. The clause prevents the POA from being indefinite in duration and terminates it on a specific date. It you want to revoke the POA you must give notice of the revocation to the Agent of no termination date is inserted in the POA. Th enotice should perferably be in writing and the Agent should acknowlege reciept of the notice. Th revocation takes effect when the intent fo revocation is communicatie to the agent.
Revocation takes effect for a third party dealing with an agent, when the third party recieves notice of the revocation. These parties may include businesses, financial institutions, schools ect. Some states require recording of revocation. In some states, a POA terminates upon the incapacity of the Principal, notwithstanding that the POA has no termination date or the termination date is aubsequent to the date when the incapacity occurs. All this is based on your state laws.

You have to tell her that the POA is revoked, and further notify anyone that has done business of any kind with her under your POA that it is revoked.
When I say "tell" I mean you have to put it in writing, and be able to prove delivery. Even to your wife.

Legal questions are always best answered by an attorney in the area in which you live. Ask your attorney and tell your wife what you are doing and why.

you write the word "void" across it, date that, then sign your name right about the word. if it had been notarized before, then sign before a notary public again.
then you give her a copy of it. you will need the original to show any vendor or bank to resolve a dispute. let them take a copy of it for your file. be sure to tell your wife so that she doesn't get into trouble. that is plain old consideration no matter how much you dislike her.

Talk to your Lawyer ... either way she will have to sign the new document stating she know's she no longer has POA. Please sit down and talk to her first ... girls generally listen to their husbands. Good luck.
