It was nominated for 4 Oscars total, all in technical categories, but it won for Visual Effects.

It was nominated for four oscars and only won one.
POTC was nominated for Achievement in Art Direction, Achievement in Visual Effects, Achievement in sound editing, and Achievement in sound mixing.
Kindof disappointing that it only won Visual Effects.
POTC: Dead Man's Chest is my all time favorite movie.

yea for visual effects.
personally i thought the movie sucked. but i think the thrid one will be much better. this one was more like a bridge between the first and third.
