No, you can never accurately speculate the outcome of your actions. You might know it will cause some sort of devastation, but the actual degree of it doesn't really register until after the crime has been committed. At least for those who have a conscience, the regret doesn't come until after the damage. That's why we don't apologize until after we cause the pain.
