I know, to most, this sounds rather morbid and 'unholy' but in my religion - English heathenism, it would have been common practice at one point and I like the ideas behind it and I've given it a lot of thought. I would love for my family to keep my skull after I die, yes I've discussed it with them and they agree for the same religious reasons.
So I would like to know the law regarding this. sensible answers only please (I should be so lucky!)

English heathenism IS fascinating! its actually called anglo-saxon heathenism or just saxon heathenism. I thought more people would identify with the word English. its very close to the Norse religions.

Good answers so far thnk you!

I'm not expecting to die before my parents, one parent has already gone! I have spoken to my husband about it, and when my children can understand the reasons, I'll speak to them about it too.

You will have to refer to the lads and lassies of the Human tissue authority, based in Holborn whose job it is to advise on and monitor the disposal and use of human tissue(obviously)

They keep an eye on sites that process/use human cadavers and in my view are similar to restaurant health inspectors. (no brains to be kept near feet and testicles etc!)

I don't know, but if you left clear instructions in your will, I shouldn't see why not. I will be keen to see if anyone else can come up with a more specific answer, it's an interesting question!

By The Way, English Heathenism sounds fascinating.

Since youve given permission for your family to keep your skull I wouldnt think there would be a problem, but you never know. Tin pot bureaucracy always stick their hooters in.

Obviously you are expecting to die before your parents,so if they are going to meet your request it would be a good idea to have a no dogs allowed policy.Get my drift?

No, absolutely not. But if you are married, you can always ask ur mate to boil your head to make it easier to remove your nonexistent brains. If he really loves you, he will not care abt the legalities.
