Dodo I know who you are.!
You sent me an email apologising for what you had done regarding my answers,do you remember?
Yes, being a tour guide is lots of fun and very hard work.
As well,as "on the ground work",learning where everything is.
I have done 3 years at university studying Egyptology and I still have a year too go.
There is a lot to learn about all aspects of Egyptian civilisation, both ancient and contemporary.
We also need very good communication skills.Working with English speaking people we need an excellent working knowledge of the language. Both written and spoken.
We have to speak very clearly to be heard above all the other guides.
At the present I am contracted by an English company with an Australian branch.
However I do plan to come to Egypt as soon as possible and commence my own business there.
To be involved in working with me, you would need to first do the appropriate course that is conducted in Egypt to train tour guides. This would be the very basic qualification required.
You would also need to be very fit and athletic and have a great sense of humour, plus the ability to think on the run.
By the way.
I am not sure if you have the recognised commencement date of the age of civilization in Egypt quite right.7.000yrs is a little longer than the reality.
Cheers!

I find it awfuly hard to believe that you are a tour guide. Maybe you should consider working on improving your English before having such a career. We do not want our tourists to be unsatisfied as they will have a horrible time trying to understand you. Are you sure you're telling us the truth? I am an English teacher and I say you need some serious help! good luck
