Gerbils live for 4 years in the wild and 1 to 5 years if kept as a pet.

Depends on the care of the Gerbil really.

They live about 3-4 years. Most petstore gerbils will have shorter life spans as they aren't bred for health and quality.

Only had one once when I was a kid and it lived until it drowned in my basement sewer pump. So sad. Later found it in my moms freezer in a bag and threw it across the garage.
