I agree with you. Even though I've never heard Falloutboy, Panic! at the Disco is a wonderful band. Very talented. I think some people just don't like them because that isn't their style of music.
Everyone IS entitled to their own opinion, you know.

I think that despite what certain people say, you'll find by looking at any billboard chart or record sales, there are way more people who like them. It's just that Fallout Boy for example puts up this whole punk-rock front and yet has an exclusive marketing campaign with Aeropostle, which no offense, but that is not punk rock. A lot of people already into the older punk-rock scene resent this and really feel like its taking part of the genre in a horribly wrong direction. Not to mention the lack of substance their songs often have.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Me personally? I've been a FOB fan since fifth or sixth grade, and a Panic! fan 3 months before it became all z100-ish. The reason that they've got so many 'haters' is because they sound the same, and their music is sometimes monotonous and pointless. FOB has been labled as a 'poseur' pop-rock band, and neither FOB nor Panic! can sing live - automatically making them 'fakes'. Hope this helps..

i think of the reason anybody hates them is by technique of the fact they are saying they're Rock yet they're specifically pop... nonetheless why does every person hate any band... all of it has to do with flavor in track... i used to love Fall Out Boy and Panic! on the Disco... now i'm into lots extra good stuff like Bullet For My Valentine, Senses Fail, Saosin, underOath, and so on... so certainly my answer is that it specifically has to do with the kind of track you like...

I enjoy listening to Fall Out Boy but I dislike Panic! At the Disco. Their style of music just does not appeal to me whatsoever. Nothing against them personally at all. The lead singer is actually pretty good-looking....

Everyone likes different music. I think people dislike these two bands because they seem more worried about being in style, than producing music of substance. They are pop bands and there's nothing wrong with that. Some people just don't like pop.

Because I don't find their music interesting at all, I dislike their lyrics and the rythm is something that doesn't suit me very well.
I don't like the punk-band type of thing, I think they all sing the same and it gets on my nerves.
Rock isn't dead, it's just you gotta go back 10-20 years to get all the original good music. But hey I won't judge someone of what they like. If you like them, then thats all that matters

i like panic at the disco but i do not like fall out boy. i hate bands that claim to be "different" and "punk" but they sound just like everyone else and sell out so they can play music. fall out boy is processed punk music. they mix punk and pop together to get catchy songs so they can play. they are not true to themselves. have you ever heard their stuff before they were famous? it's a lot different and thats why i dont like them.

well people get jealous sometimes.
they seem to fall into the genre of pop boy bands. Think Backstreet boys and Nsync. The music is diffrent but they appeal to alot of children and that makes older fans upset.

There's no talent involved in writing catchy lyrics, playing a bunch of noisy power chords, and starting a horrible horrible fashion trend, called being emo.
Edit. Rock isn't dead. You just need to look to obscure artists to find anything with real talent.
