While it has not really had too much impact on the actual quantity of available oil, it has impacted perceptions. What I mean is that it has created a fear in markets that Arab sources could withhold oil and create a shortage. This combined with recent concerns about us reaching "peak oil" and the increase in usage particularaly in China have driven costs up.

The war is certainly one key component in the rise in price, but in and of itself has not impacted supply significantly outside of some disruptions to pipelines at a few points during the conflict.

This impact has leveled out some, but we will continue to see it as tensions in Iran flare up.
