Is the file supposed to be an audio, vidio, image or data file? That information may help others answer you question more accurately than I can.

I've never heard of the first file type, but the second would appear to be a regular rar file. It's a type of compressed file, like a zip. I use alzip from AL Tools at www.altools.net for opening all my compressed files. It's free for home use and they have several other free utilities as well.

I know I didn't answer your question completely, but I hope I was of some help.

Good luck!

Well it cannot be played in its compressed form so go to google and search for 7 Zip its the faster (faster than the XP one) for unzipping and compressing things so just uncompress it and then it will play in the right player.

unzip (decompress) the file first. use any compressing/decompressing software that supports .rar format. windows built in compressor/decompresser does not support .rar. you can find many that can decompress .rar and various other types. just find what you think best for you (if you have no use of .gz, .cab, .ace and some other formats, just find a decent one that can handle .rar. you don't need programs that will take up a lot of space that supports thousands of formats you don't use)
