yes i know some of these are much better than others. some are reach and some are safety

Yes, however I would even consider trimming this list down in half. Remember you (or your parents) will have to play application fees for every school you apply to - plus you'll pay to send SAT/ACT scores to them. Additionally, many schools will have essays that you must complete as part of the application procedure. While you can "recycle" some of your essays, some you will not be able to.

There is a pretty big drop in quality between UNC-CH (the best of these schools) and UNC-W (probably the worst of these schools). If you think you even have a shot at UNC-CH -- then you shouldn't be applying to schools that are so far below it.

Princeton Review's web site has a tool where you can enter information about your background and interests. It then spits out a list of schools that are appropriate for you. You might want to click on the link below to check this out.
