everyday i find myself wondering what life without school would be like...i mean i am in my last year of high school, and i am attending college in the fall, but as i see my friends choosing which universities they are going to go off to, i realize that there is so much out there that we havent experience, as in life without school, without the obligation of waking up everyday to sit in a classroom, we certainly have never actually had a full time job, so we are in a sense blind folded about life, now i know a lot of people are going to think im stupid since i have the opportunity to go to college and all, but in the end, the univeristies are still going to be there...so in the long run, should i just go to college in the fall or should i take the semester off, and experience life?

You won't experience much life serving burgers and fries. So if taking some time off before college is what you want to do, can you find a good plan for that time? Can you afford whatever that plan might be? Do some research into options, talk with your parents about what your plans might be, and go from there.

If you don't feel you are excited about college and ready to buckle down and make the most of that experience, then you are probably better off waiting. But I'd think about waiting for year rather than making the transition into college mid-year by most standards. Usually the universities are more equipped to help yo make the transition in the fall and if you are already a little unsure about your readiness, then why add an extra burden by missing out on their set orientation activities?
Good luck!

Do not take the semester to "experience life". However, if you want to join Peace Corps, get a job in a field you might want to major in, join the military, or some other practical idea then go for it.

I can tell you I spent 6+ years getting a 4 year degree because I was military and it certainly made me better prepared for the "real world" when I did graduate college. My first year in college was almost a total waste as I was not ready to be on my own and serious about the committment to school.
