Its boring because of these p*ssy rules Stern has instituted. Fouls on the smallest contact...3 second violations...and that stupid rule...forgot what its called...but you can't celebrate after scoring a basket. These remove a lot of the passion from the game.

The NBA and the NHL have become boring because the players size and speed have outgrown their court/arena. In the NBA every player has a 7 foot wingspan and can stuff the ball with a standing vertical leap. The players have become on average much bigger and stronger so the inside lane is more like a gauntlet than and obstacle course.
The pros need to increase the size of the paint and the height of the rim.

Personally I Love the NBA and do not think it's boring. However, to increase the entertainment value and add more sportsmanship I would like to more international players.
Heres' why:
1. International Players tend to be better shooters and pass the ball more.
2. Movement is a big part of the international game.
Now don't get me wrong I love seeing a high flying Vinsanity-Kobesque dunk. But if we had more players like Kidd and Nash the game could be a little more uptempo and exciting.

The NBA is so boring because it is less about the sport than it is about the business and the entertainment aspects of the game. Players are given so much money that, in order to pay the bills, owners have "tinkered" with the game of basketball so much - 6 personal fouls per player; a 24-second shot clock; no zones; no defense to speak of; NO fundamentals; - that the game is lost in the show.

I don't think it is boring, however, NCAA basketball is more interesting because the kids are playing for something. If an NBA team loses tonight they can win tomorrow night. College kids are fighting and have coaches that ride them. I think the least coaching a pro team needs is an NBA team. 100 Points a game is the norm, because nobody plays defense.

Because every team does the same pick and roll and calls it something different; then instead of grabbing a rebound and going back up strong they do the Volleyball tap to try and make a basket...it has become worse than watching a baseball game, College game is much more exciting.

That stupid triangle offense. No movement without the ball, 4 guys standing around the perimeter hoping for a shot. Try watching the "Showtime" Lakers of old, or the current Phoenix Suns. That's exciting.

for one the NBA is not boring and it is probably boring to you b/c you don't like basketball. You have to be in to the game in order to like it. I have played basketball for 4 years I think i know what i am talking about.

I like college basketball a lot more, and it is because they play defense in college, and when you get to the NBA you can throw defense put the door and you can travel on every possesion and it won't get called.
